Regis Restores Historic Lobby

This winter Regis restored their historic lobby. This building was built as the laboratory research facility for Great Lakes Carbon.  George Skakel started Great Lakes to market coal fine particles.  His research found new uses for coal dust which included dry cell batteries and construction material. George's daughter, Ethel married US Senator Robert Kennedy.  Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Skakel

A team of European workers removed ten plus coats of paint to reveal mahogany woodwork. They also restored damaged plaster and metalwork.  Do come by to check it out.
